Job Description – Full Time Staff RN – PACU

Position: Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Location : Lancaster, OH
Job Type: Full-Time Staff
Shift: Days
Schedule: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU to provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. The RN will monitor patients closely during the post-anesthesia recovery period, assess vital signs, manage pain and nausea, and ensure safe stabilization before transfer or discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery.
• Continuously monitor vital signs, airway, oxygenation, cardiac status, and level of consciousness.
• Assess patients for post-anesthesia complications and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered.
• Manage postoperative pain, nausea, and other recovery-related symptoms.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Communicate patient status and recovery progress with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members.
• Ensure safe patient transfer to the appropriate unit or discharge area.
• Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies.
• Provide patient and family education regarding postoperative care and recovery instructions.

Ideal Candidate:

• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• Recent PACU/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit experience .
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and patient-monitoring skills.
• Experience caring for patients following surgical and anesthesia procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
